Dial Indicating Bore Gauges

3 Variations

The Oxford Precision 29mm (1 1/8") Dial Diameter Gauge is designed for rapid and accurate measurement of size, concentricity, wear, taper, etc., in a wide range of bores, making it suitable for workshop and inspection use. The gauge features one fixed and one moving anvil, along with a self-adjusting center shoe. A 'datum point' can be set using a setting ring of a known diameter or a micrometer, and the gauge can be zeroed to this datum point by aligning 'zero' with the indicator. To check bore tolerance, the limit hands can be fixed as required. All anvils are spring-loaded to expand into the bore, ensuring accuracy. For precise readings, it is important to ensure the stem of the gauge is parallel to the axis of the bore, which can be checked by 'rocking' the gauge back and forth until the smallest diameter is found. The gauge includes interchangeable anvils to cover a range of bore sizes and is supplied in a durable hard case for protection and easy transport.
