This two-piece rescue stretcher is specifically designed to safely transport patients who have a suspected spinal injury or damage to the spine, where the lifting of the patient may further cause harm. The two-piece stretcher incorporates a frame of hinged panels that are capable of being swivelled when unlocked, allowing the stretcher to be manoeuvred in such a way that allows each of these panels or flaps to slide underneath the body. Once the panels are in their final position, they can be locked into place having effectively scooped up the patient. Boasting three straps for maximum patient immobilisation, a narrow gap between the panels to allow Emergency Staff to carry out a spinal X-ray without moving the patient.
